In 2009, 700 Australian school representatives attended 75 workshops hosted around Australia from March to June. By the time the application period had closed, we’d received 1552 applications.
As pledged, we awarded $5 million in funding in 2009 - 20 Seed Funding Awards, 68 Local Impact Awards,
eight State and Territory Impact Awards and one National Impact Award.

Note to unsuccessful 2009 applicants
If your application was unsuccessful in 2009, you'll be receiving your personalised feedback late February 2010.
The feedback will include the characteristics of the most outstanding applications and give specific comments relating to your application. The Schools First team encourages you to take the customised feedback into consideration if you're intending to resubmit an application for awards funding in 2010.
